Wow I ran into this problem on my Windows XP machine iwth Outlook 2007 and had never seen it.

Found a simple fix. I just opened the run command (Start–>Run) and typed in outlook.exe  /resetnavpane

I hit enter and Outlook opened correctly

Start — Run I typed in box outlook.exe /resetnavpane then clicked OK for Vista Home Preminum and appears : Microsoft Outlook Cannot start Microsoft Outlook The command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch you are using .

Yup – the resetnavpane worked fine for me, what was odd is that the other outlook profiles all worked (have 3) it was just one of them that didn’t.

Thanks for that one ! Now up and running again :)

Windows 7 also. Office 2007 Pro also. Coincidence !?
